Description

Our grafted Anna apple trees are 60 to 80cm tall, sun hardened and ready to plant into the ground or a large pot… these are not bare root trees, they are grown in pots and have a well established root system.

Anna is a specialised low chill, sub-tropical variety suited to climates that have mild winters. They are the best choice for warmer parts of QLD and NSW. They require very little winter chill and will fruit well from Sydney to Cairns. These trees can also grow well in colder areas but late spring frosts may affect fruit set.

Anna produces delicious, crunchy apples very similar to their cold climate cousins however they only require a low amount of chill. They are similar in taste and shape to Red Delicious.

The trees are grafted onto a selected dwarfing rootstock .  They will grow to less than half the size of a regular tree but produce fruit that is the same size and quality. They are self-fertile and do not require a pollinator.

Pruning, spraying and harvesting is much easier to manage with dwarf apple trees and they often come into regular bearing earlier than the standard counterpart. Initially they grow at much the same rate but once the dwarf trees get around 1.5m they begin to slow down and settle into maturity. The trees come into bearing very early and often fruit in there first year.

Apples Require regular irrigation throughout the growing season.

Please note: due to quarantine restrictions plants cannot be sent to Northern Territory, Tasmania or Western Australia.
