Arecuzzo Olive Trees – 50mm pots
Our Arecuzzo olive trees are quality commercial stock grown in a professional nursery in south-east Queensland. The trees are 5-6 months old, 15-20cm tall are sun hardened and ready to plant into a larger pot.
Arecuzzo is a reliable high yielding tree that has an early start to bearing. The fruit is small to medium in size and has a good oil content. Ripens early/mid season. It is adaptable to both warm and cold climates and is a proven performer in warm subtropical climates. The tree is medium vigor with a low rounded canopy. Fruit can be pickled both green ripe and black and it is well suited to the Ligurian style of pickling.
We suggest that initially you plant the olive trees into larger pots and grow them on for three to four months before planting in the garden. In the pots, we recommend only using premium potting mix with some added controlled release fertilizer (Osmocote/ Troforte etc). Garden soil is not suitable for use in pots.
Once the plants reach around 40 cm tall they are ready to plant in the garden, you will need to keep weeds away from the tree and initially water every couple of days or so to ensure that the roots are kept moist. Mulching around the plant and protecting it with a tree guard is recommended.
We only send trees early in the week to help ensure they arrive at their destination before the weekend.
Please note: due to quarantine restrictions plants cannot be sent to Northern Territory, Tasmania or Western Australia.
