Mulberry “Grants White” (Morus alba) is a fast growing deciduous tree that will grow to around 6m to 8m tall if left unpruned.  The sweet white fruit and produced in spring/summer and can be eaten fresh or cooked, in dessert, pies and juices.

The tree the will benefit from a light prune in winter to encourage fruit set. Tree size can be maintained as a semi- dwarf by cutting out the top of the tree back to 2 – 2.5m high in late Autumn/ early Winter.

Grants white is an attractive specimen tree and provides excellent shade in the summer. It is adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions. It will tolerate clay and wet soils but does not perform well under dry sandy conditions. It has moderate frost tolerance.

The foliage is used for commercial silkworm production.

Please note we cannot send trees to TAS, WA or NT due to state quarantine restrictions.

We only send trees early in the week to help ensure they arrive at their destination before the weekend.
