Description

Our olive trees are quality commercial stock grown in a professional nursery in south-east Queensland.

The trees are 10-12 months old, 50-80cm tall are sun hardened and ready to plant into the ground or  a large pot.

Leccino is an Italian variety from Tuscany. Commercially it is primarily grown for its high quality robust oil. The small/medium sized fruit can be pickled both green and black and is often use to make ligurian style olives .  It is an attractive, hardy tree that is a proven performer in cold climates. It is tolerant to frost, coastal conditions and salinity.

Leccino makes a great informal hedge or screening plant.

We suggest that initially you plant the 50mm pot size olive trees into larger pots and grow them on for three to four months before planting in the garden. In the pots, we recommend only using premium potting mix with some added controlled release fertilizer (Osmocote/ Nutricote etc). Garden soil is not suitable for use in pots.
Once the plants reach around 40 cm tall they are ready to plant in the garden, you will need to keep weeds away from the tree and initially water every couple of days or so to ensure that the roots are kept moist. Mulching around the plant and protecting it with a tree guard is recommended.

We only send trees early in the week to try and ensure they arrive at their destination before the weekend.
Please note: due to quarantine restrictions plants cannot be sent to Northern Territory, Tasmania or Western Australia.
